Something About Myself
26-12-2011

I have been an angler all of my life, but sadly I suffered a badly damaged spine in 2002 and that forced me to stop angling. This was a bad time for me as apart from the irreparable damage I had to my spine, I also had to give up my hobby of angling which had I had started as a youngster fishing the river Lea in east London.

I did NOT actively think, "now this would be a good time to think about keeping some fish". In fact nothing was further from my mind. My son had a tropical aquarium that he had purchased about a year ago, but had grown tired of the upkeep so he asked me if I would like it and after a bit of thought I agreed.

Among the fish in the aquarium were 2 Plecs. All was well to start with but as they grew one started to bully the other one. It got so bad that the bullied fish had all of his fins split, so I either had to get rid of 1 of the Plecs (which my wife would not hear of), or I had to find another aquarium. I asked around and finally was given n aquarium that holds about 7 gallons. I purchased some gravel, a filter and some plants and soon had it set up and running. I transfered the bullied Plec and a Giant Danio for companionship. Peace was resumed albeit by having yet another aquarium to look after.

My 3rd aquarium was given to me about 3 months ago by a person who was immigrating to Rumania. The aquarium is a cold water set up with 21 fish in it. The aquarium is an Aqua One 300 litre bow front model.
