I have not fished my clubs water this month due to the impact that the cormorants have had on the fishery. To me a good days fishing is to be able to have bites and catch fish on a regular basis, but it is not unknown to fish a whole session without so much as a bite. When you do finally get a bite it will be from one of the larger carp in the water, and due to its size and weight will give you no chance of landing it when float fishing with five pound line.
There are some tench, bream and perch, but they are too few and far between. The outcome is that after a few hours I am tempted to put the float rod away and set up a pair of carp rods, but this is not what I am looking for.
