God has wonderfully blessed the many missions that the Spearhead team have undertaken. Each one has been special in its own way. Some have seen many coming to Christ, whilst others have been tough, yet significant things have happened which, looking back, have been a turning point.

Under the leadership of Keith Wills and members of the Spearhead team,
this mission lasted 4 years from the preparation stage to the final
meetings. Over 60 churches participated and each was helped to look at
its own response to the community on their doorstep and undertake
appropriate outreach as a result, usually involving the Spearhead team.
One Methodist church had a whole new youth programme as teenagers
flooded in. It was wonderful to see many of all ages stand in
commitment to the Lord for the first time - and this was only the
beginning! A large Pentecostal church doubled in size! A small village
Church held a mission called "Our Village Festival" and saw most of the
people in the area at the events and a new youth work begun, which
continues.
We invited Rev. Michael Green to come with a large team and work alongside "Spearhead" in reaching into each church and touching many of their friends and neighbours through a variety of opportunities.
The whole town (pop:250,000) was then visited, and nearly every school
in the area had a presentation of t
he Gospel. Home groups, open airs
etc. led to high - profile events featuring a variety of presentations
including "The World Wide Message Tribe", Rosemary Conley and Rev. Noel
Proctor (Chaplain at the time of the Strangeways Prison riots). Many
were counselled by the people from the churches and follow-up
programmes set up. Keith was stopped in the street by one lady to say
"Thankyou to God" for her husband coming to Christ! One of the churches
radically changed in its outlook and had very successful Alpha courses
as a result of the imput.

Described as one of the the worst areas in Europe by the "Daily
Telegraph", this estate on the outskirts of Bradford has been known for
crime, drug abuse and social upheaval. The mission was a test of the
methods of Spearhead and also of God`s power. The small fellowship on
the estate prayed and put into practice all we asked. God opened new
doors into people`s lives and into the heart of the community as we
went into the schools, homes and sought to love the very disruptive
teenage population. One young person asked why we had come to the area.
We told him we wanted to share how Jesus could be real in their lives,
to which he commented "We don`t believe in Jesus round here!" The
persistence of patience and love of the church and the small support
and encouragement we could be to the church led to a break-through. The
youth meeting had to be stopped halfway through because it was getting
out of hand. What happened next was amazing to watch! The whole
difficult element simply got up and left leaving some of their friends
to listen. When we gave the invitation many of them were counselled.
Some of the church who had been overwhelmed by the social conditions
gained a new confidence and have since been hard at work amongst the
youth and the community. God has begun to change so much on the estate,
that it was obviously His timing for the mission.

A number of mill towns make up this heavily industrialised area. The
mission was organised over a very short period of time, but the full
cooperation of the committee and the participation of churches from the
various towns made it very special. A wide variety of work in the
community leading up to wonderful meetings in the Civic Theatre saw a
good number come to faith in Christ. One couple had been in and out of
prison through drug abuse and had reached rock-bottom in their lives
and in their relationship. After attending an occasional meeting in a
local church they came to a meal, then heard the message through Keith
in the Civic theatre and at the closing event of the mission came
forward to give their lives to Christ. They have since been baptised,
and the change in their lives has been so profound that it has had a
radical effect on the community!

Larkhall
is a small town south of Glasgow. Rev Stuart Wadsworth who was one of
Keith and Deborah's young people, who is now the minister of Larkhall
Baptist Church, invited Keith and the team to conduct two missions
based on the church and in partnership with the other churches in the
town.
Stirling Baptist
Church was the host for a mission that included work in many primary
and secondary schools in a wide area around the town. Many and varied
venues were laid on for Keith and the team to present the message.
These included an upmarket hotel with a Scottish evening: a Business
Persons' Dinner where the head of "Stagecoach" shared his christian
story: Home groups: Bonfire celebration in the Bridge of Allen: A
Scottish Ceilidh and a Boulles evening based on a local pub.We praise God for these and many more missions where we have seen Him at work in such wonderful ways. It is His doing and we give Him all the glory for all that He has done. We would love to engage with you in seeking to help you reach your area. Please contact us.
