In this, and the link pages, we would like to share the tremendous way a "Spearhead Mission" could affect your area. Their aim - to saturate an area with the gospel of Jesus Christ, giving every person in that area at least one opportunity to hear the message and respond to it, is matched by the practical help and stimulus they give to the churches and Christians of that area. These missions have been successfully used in a variety of situations and in areas as large as 250,000 in population.
Analysis
Careful analysis is
made of each community as to its make-up, problems and
opportunities, and the part the church plays in it. A strategy of
continuous evangelism is then developed to reach as many people
as possible before, during and after the mission.
Training
Training is given to
encourage Christians in how to share their faith in a relaxed and
natural way. They are encouraged to build lasting friendships so
that the mission can help those already befriended to a living
faith.
Principles of
continuous evangelism are shared with the leadership of the
churches so that each church can develop its own strategy of
follow-up and continuous outreach to the area.
Stimulus and
practical training are given in the vital area of prayer. We have
seen many come to faith in Christ through this prayer strategy.
Outreach (Click here for more information)
Outreach to the
community is a central part of a Spearhead mission. Team members
and specialists reach out into the community eg. schools,
community centres, open airs, youth clubs, industry etc as well
as maximising the events already taking place in the life of the
church through specially arranged events to touch specific target
groups of the church.
High
Profile Events (Click here for more information)
The focus of the
mission are high profile events that are designed for the
unchurched. The work in the community, church, and amongst those
contacted as a result of the training in sharing your faith, all
lead to these events which capture the imagination of the
community and provide a wonderful place to bring the people
contacted. They present a fast moving program with creative
elements leading to the preaching of the Gospel in a relevent and
challenging way.
"Advising" and Follow Up (Click
here for more information)
Each person making a
spiritual response through the mission is handled with respect
and in confidence. Training is given to help local people to be
able do this with skill and sensitivity.
Follow up is a vital
part of mission both of the individuals showing a spiritual
response, as well the follow up of the opportunities opened up
during the mission. It has been our experience that many new
doors of opportunity come as a result of the mission and these
must be utilised for the future. Help is given in all these
areas.
The
Team (Click here for more information)
In order to help the
local committee to organise the mission we have a team of
Christian leaders who are on hand with advice and help. A team of
full-time and lay workers are also available to Spearhead for
outreach into the churches and the community, making the impact
all the greater.
"The Thrill of Missions" (Click

Read about some of
the exciting times the Spearhead team have experienced on
mission. It has not always been easy, but God has touched lives
and changed situations. This is precisely the reason He called
Spearhead into existence - to find ways of reaching the unreached
with the Gospel as well as those on the fringe of the church.
Send for the 12
minute returnable video showing one specific mission. Through it
we saw God touch the lives of people who had been prayed for
years. One couple had been in and out of prison on drugs related
problems but have now come to a sure faith in Christ. You will
see the many and varied ways Spearhead seeks to reach into the
community and glimpse something of the high-profile events which
seek to present the Good News in a relevant yet challenging way.
