Games and positions in GIF format:

Cowboy3.gif (14457 bytes)

Just look at that King!

A new idea, and admittedly not a very good one, some of my favourite games in animated diagram form similar to the above.  The files are not huge. They download very quickly and you can keep them. (If you like).  In order to see them you must 'enable animations' on your browser. Among them are:

Kasparov v Kramnik Game 15 The game that won Kramnik the Braingames World Championship

Euwe v Lasker 1934 Lasker's out of retirement masterpiece

Short v Kasparov London 1993 Garry gives no quarter in a speed game where he gives us all a lesson on how to attack

Ljubojevic v Kramnik Belgrade 1995 a Pelican Masterwork

Kramnik v Polgar Exhibition game for German TV 1997, don't think I know a better positional game. Unless it's..

Fischer v Spassky The famous sixth game from 1972, even Spassky applauded Fischer's play at the end.

More Games and positions in GIF Format including four examples of games decided by the famous double bishop  sacrifice. Talking of which...
