Ljubojevic v Kramnik Belgrade 1995
This is a stunning game from Kramnik, this is one of the games which inspired me to
take up the Pelican myself. Ljubojevic is done for in quick style. Kramnik
also played many other games in this opening which are well worth the trouble of seeking
out.
The game is freely available on the internet - from the Pittsburgh archives for example
- annotations of the game have appeared in quite a few magazines but as these are
copyright I cannot repeat them here.
If however you are wondering what would have happened after Ljubojevic plays Qd5 and
Kramnik totally ignores the threat to his knight on c6 - well get a set out and have a
look - you will find a beautiful forced win for black. Th same theme is around for a
few moves so do not worry - the diagram is correct. And looking for it will teach
you more than reading the answer. Enjoy! As they say...

Now that is what I call a game of chess.
