BONFIRES!  NO THANKS! Bonfires are now seen by many to be unnecessary and anti-social.   Apart from producing dirty particulate matter that pollutes other peoples' gardens, properties and lungs, bonfires produce numerous toxic chemicals including dioxins.  Persistent bonfires may constitute a Statutory Nuisance under the Environmental Protection Act 1990.  Contact Rushcliffe Borough Council Environmental Health section to report repetitive nuisance. Trouble with High Hedges? The high hedge provisions of the Antisocial Behaviour Act 2003 came into force at the beginning of June 2005. Click here to go to the government’s website which has a wealth of interesting information. As far as I am aware you should contact Rushcliffe Public Health if you have hedge problems.
