A Taste of the Caribean pottery are unique pieces of Trinidadian clay pottery. Each piece is crafted and glazed by hand at Ajoupa's kiln in Central Trinidad.

Bunty O’Connor lives and works in Trinidad, the most southerly of the islands of the West Indies. Her interest in clay started in the 1970’s when she and her husband Rory did much prospecting and testing of different local deposits. This led to the setting up of Ajoupa Pottery in 1987, a thriving workshop producing thrown, press moulded and handmade terracotta wares and ornaments. These pieces were hand painted and fired at earthenware temperature. Ajoupa Pottery won the Prime Minister’s Export Award for cottage industry in 1991.
