You need quicktime (Probably Version 4), and you can get
that from the apple web site)
Click on the link here to download the Aberdeen
FC Screensaver.
First though...some points...
|
|
2)
|
You need the shockwave player (but then again you should already
have downloaded that, or you wouldn't be able to see the Gothenburg
Five image properly...)
|
|
3)
|
It won't work on a Apple (of any description), yet...

Put your newly downloaded afcsaver.exe file into the system
folder. Create a folder inside the system (or windows) folder:
call this one images. This is important as the screensaver accesses
this folder - looking for *.mov files.
Put a *.mov file in this folder. You can download the one from
below. Create an alias and put it on your desktop. This will
give you easy access to the screen saver. It will run as a stand
alone application.

|
5)
|
You must now download a file called 'anysaver'.
It allows you to use any .exe file as a screensaver. Put it
into your windows folder too.
|
|
6)
|
Now go to the screensaver control panel (either right click
on your desktop, or goto the control panel and click on display).
Set the screensaver to 'anysaver' and in settings change the
name to afc.exe. Now click apply and you now have the afc screen
saver. Preview if you want, or click ok to leave.

The screensaver runs thru a 30 second 'show' displaying a quicktime
movie in the centre of the screen. It the loops back to the start
and accesses the next quicktime movie. It continues thru all the quicktime
movies alphabetically, and then loops back to the first. If a quicktime
movie is longer than 30 seconds the player waits until finished.
You can use the mouse to increase the volume; on reaching the max,
it loops back to zero.
I have digitized about 500 megs worth of AFC goals, If you want them
drop me an e-mail, and we can organise a CD or something - if you
are interested... probably cost a coule of pounds for the CD though.
