About Myself

Like many practitioners, I first became interested in complementary therapies following a period of sustained illness. The effect of Acupuncture on my well-being was so significant that I was motivated to explore oriental medicine further .
I studied Shiatsu ( a form of Japanese massage) for three years at the European Shiatsu School, followed by a further four years study in Traditional Chinese Acupuncture at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York. I qualified with a Diploma in Acupuncture and I am a fully registered member of the British Acupuncture Council. Currently, I am training in Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine.

I have a private practice in Mutley and worked for two years, in a voluntary capacity, as an Acupuncturist at St Luke's Hospice Plymouth predominantly dealing with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and cancer patients (reference attached). In my private practice I have a special interest in the treatment /management of MS. As a qualified practitioner I am also registered with "The NHS Directory of Acupuncturists". This directory was compiled by the "Association of Primary Care Groups and Trusts" after consultation with the Department of Health. It's aim is to recommend professionally qualified Acupuncturists to GPs , so that they may refer patients for private consultation, or, depending on the policy of the Primary Care Trust, fund the patient's treatment on the NHS.
