A short distance from the Town is the Events/Picnic Area and Fairground.

The centre piece of the fairground is the traditional "Galloper" with galloping horses, cockerels etc. Next to the Galloper is a Cocoanut Shy, Hall of Mirrors and Shuggy Boat Swings. In 1998 a further new? attraction - a genuine old wooden "Helter-Skelter" - was added. Unfortunately during Winter 2001/2002 the Helter Skelter was damaged beyond repair. There is a charge for these attractions (£1 pence per ride or £7 for 10 rides).

Near the Fairground is the Events Field/Picnic Area where the outdoor events take place. There are several events planned throughout the year - see the "what's on when" section.
