The club was founded in 1959 to provide a venue in which to play social rubber bridge in a relaxed atmosphere, catering specifically to those lovers of this fascinating game who do not  wish to play the alternative, more competitive duplicate bridge.

We cater for all ages and levels, there is no required standard a player must attain before joining. Beginners are always welcome. The sole purpose is to enjoy the game of bridge in a friendly environment.

We expect members to accept  a policy of zero tolerance.

The bidding system used by the club is Standard Acol, or an alternative system known as the "Phoney Club" which is a very simple system easily picked up by any player conversant with the elements of Acol. Whichever system you prefer you will always be welcome, and we will find you a partner.

We play for 1p per hundred and £2 table money (includes tea and biscuits), there is no membership fee.

All we ask is that you come along with the intention of having an enjoyable afternoon  of bridge.
