The Markfield Beam Engine and Museum is housed in a Grade II listed building, the old engine house, on a six and a half acre site which was the former sewage treatment works for Tottenham and the surrounding districts.

The principal exhibit is the Wood Bros. Beam Steam Pumping Engine of 1886.

Currently the Engine is a static exhibit, but funding has been obtained to enable work to commence on the restoration of the Engine and Engine House, and the installation of a new boiler.
