Golden Wedding |
|
My parents celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in September 2002, and we had a family get together at my sister's flat. |

Uncle's grave |
|
Then in October I had another cottage holiday with my parents on the north Norfolk coast, staying in Wells. While there I managed to see the University of East Anglia with its stepped pyramids, and my Uncle Leslie's grave after whom I am named. He was shot down just before the end of the Second World War. Last year I did not have a foreign holiday but enjoyed Spring Harvest at Minehead. This year I am planning to go on the Revelation Alive Cruise following St.Paul's footsteps in Greece and present day Turkey. |

View over Florence - |
In May 2001 I had a wonderful holiday in Tuscany, staying at Chiaciano Terme, and enjoying five days of excursions. These included Rome and the Sistine Chapel, a return to Florence where I saw different buildings to last time, Assisi, Perugia, Pienza, Montepulciano, and San Gimignano famous for its towers and Tony Blair's favourite galeteria. |

The London Eye |
Then in October I enjoyed a holiday in Dorset with my parents and brother. We stayed at Sandford Orcas, a village reached by single track road, nestling in a valley shielded from mobile phones. My favourite day out was to Wells Cathedral, and to see its famous Vicars Close. We all enjoyed Abbottsbury, and my father's favourite was the tank museum at Bovingdon. Earlier in July we celebrated his 70th birthday on the London Eye. |

For Canning Town |
In April 2000 I led an ACPA visit to see the new JLE stations. My timetable worked out perfectly, and afterwards we returned to Bank from Stratford via the DLR extension to Lewisham. ACPA is now Christians in Architecture and Planning, and I have just completed a website at www.capsite.org.uk. |

CHURCH NEWS - from St.James, AlpertonNumbers at Prayer Plus and in home groups had become been disappointingly low. However the monthly prayer meeting has been relaunched as In Touch and numbers have grown. We now have two main morning services to cope with growing numbers, have established a Kidz Church and more recently an Urdu service in the afternoon. I am the church webmaster, and the site went on-line at Easter 2002. You can visit it at www.stjamesalperton.org.uk Our challenge in 2003 is to continue the youth and children's work without the benefit of a curate or family worker. |
