North Miller's Dale Community Association Newsletter May 08
Welcome to the May edition of the Millers Tale. As a community association we are able to apply for grants from the local council to assist with our activities and this year we have been fortunate to be the recipients of two council grants. The first, from the Eastleigh Borough Council, has enabled us to purchase a replacement printer for our newsletter production, the old one having gone to an early grave due to overwork! The second is a grant from the Hampshire County Council which will enable us to build a much needed storage facility onto the side of the hall. Currently North Millers Dale Community Association barbeques, chairs, crockery, etc. are stored in peoples houses and gardens making arrangements for events a time consuming treasure hunt to get everything together.

Another benefit we have received from the council came in a communication from Andy Milner who informs us that the funding has gone through for an additional notice board to be erected at the entrance to the area now to be known as Vinings Copse. In addition a plaque will be added to the tree that the North Millers Dale Community Association planted in Vinings Copse after the enthusiastic efforts put in by the working party clearing the area. It is planned to have an official naming ceremony later in the year and members of the Vining family should be with us to perform the official opening.

In the centrefold of this issue we have printed a timetable for the new service that the Blue Line buses will be running between Valley Park and Eastleigh via North Millers Dale after pressure to resume the service. Hopefully the sevice will be supported and will continue.
