5th April 2002 Carl from Birmingham wrote..... ...My mum is a lesbian and has a problem with me being gay. She says that she didn't have a clue about her sexuality at my age so she "can't understand why I can claim to be gay!" She said that it took her years of experimenting to realize that she was gay. Please help me sort this problem as it is ruining my mum's and my relationship.... Carl, 17, Birmingham LGB Students Agony Uncle wrote... You need to talk to your mum and explain that you are comfortable with your sexuality and don't feel that you need to experiment. I am presuming that you are comfortable with your sexuality? Your mum needs to understand that every person is different and that it may take several years for one personal to 'come to terms' with being gay, and on the other hand some people realize their sexuality much quicker. The relationship between you and your mum is important to both of you so you need to talk to each other and try to understand each others views and between you, you sort out the problem. :-)
