Our links commit us to: the offering of mutual encouragement and prayer; the sharing of information to help us gain a better understanding of each other; and the giving and receiving of insights and experience to strengthen our common mission

Local and Diocesan

The Cathedral has a lively congregation, which meets regularly to be strengthened through their worship of God. The Dean and Chapter lead a pastoral and teaching ministry, which builds up the fellowship and equips members to exercise their ministry of the service of God in the world.

The Cathedral community also supports the faithful of the Diocese, hosting diocesan services and events, sharing in the work, especially in education and worship, and, through the Diocesan Digest, supplying monthly tapes for the partially sighted.

Worldwide Links

| Europe | North America | Malaysia | New Zealand |

The Cathedral has important links with churches across the world: we exchange news and information, visit one another, as and when we can, and so help one another with the work of God.

European Links

Lichfield City has a twinning link with Ste Foy les Lyon in southern France and with Limburg in Germany. The Cathedral has formed a close link with the churches of Ste Foy and Limburg Cathedral. Regular exchanges take place between the three places, both of individuals and various groups. Christians try to give a prayerful, spiritual basis to the links, so that they may improve the quality of life of all.

The Diocese has a link with the Lutheran Church of Germany in the Diocese of Mecklenburg. The Cathedral is forging a link with the Cathedral of Schwerin. Exchanges take place and an exchange of information, and we hope to stimulate one another in discipleship.

North American Links

The Cathedral has, for many years, formed a Fellowship Link with the people of St Mark’s Episcopal Church on Capitol Hill, in Washington D.C. The Diocese has a link with the Qu’Appelle Diocese of Canada, and the Cathedral is forging a link with St Paul’s Cathedral in Regina. Regular exhanges of people and information stimulate our work for God.

Maylasian Links

The Diocese has links with the three Malaysian dioceses of West Malaysia, Kuching and Sabah. The Cathedral is maintaining a link with their cathedrals: St Mary’s, Kuala Lumpur; St Thomas’, Kuching and All Saints’, Kota Kinabalu.

Our link with Malaysia is providing a particular stimulus to Mission and Evangelism in the Diocese.

New Zealand Links

The Cathedral is creating a Fellowship Link with St Paul’s Cathedral, Wellington.
