"Poppy"

Poppy Petal was whelped 19 th June 2004, one of a litter of 4 blue roans sired by Spendles Spinning Top out of Shandardel Jingle Bells (Lolly). She went to live in Bridgnorth with a couple who already own a Rhodesian Ridgeback called Bertie (who has a lovely gentle nature), 2 guinea pigs Tulip and Muffin and 2 rabbits Brenda and Mabel.

Her proud owner Sam writes of her progress -

Poppy just takes everything in her stride. She likes to yap at the guinea pigs then lie down on the floor darting backwards and forwards. The guinea pigs just stare at her, squeak then flick their back legs and kick things at her then do a couple of victory laps of their pen! Bertie joins them at this point and licks both of the guineas and flicks one of Poppy's ears over with his nose and cleans her ears!

Poppy has been attending puppy socialisation and obedience classes and we're so proud that she has attained her Kennel Club Good Citizen Puppy Foundation Award. At the Christmas Party she also won the fastest sit (no food, loose lead and no vocal command) against one of the trainers Labradors! She also repeated her success with the fastest down and her trainer remarked that early training has certainly paid off!

Poppy also had her juvenile assessment at the vets in December and everything was fine, she behaved really well and gave the vet a kiss on command.
