LA ROUTE DU POISSON 2004

The British Team made it's 3rd visit to this prestigious event which took place from Friday September 26th to Sunday September 28th, and took us from Boulogne to Paris.

Led by Chef D'Equipe Rowena McDermott, the team consisted of 22 horses, 11 drivers, 11 grooms, 2 change teams, several vehicle drivers and numerous other helpers. Horses were provided by John McDermott, Andrew Withers, Chris Carpenter, Fred Sampson, Steve Jones, Daniel Brown, Giles Blatchford, David Baker, The Working Horse Trust (2 pairs) and Ken Jones.

The team put up an excellent performance, winning three of the stages, and managing fine placings in several others. However, some "controversial" judging decisions meant that in the final placings, we ended up 15th of the 16 teams, a result that does not in any way reflect our acheivements. We returned home full of desire to do it all again in 2005.
