Leader: Stephen Brown

Stephen Brown read physics at Oxford before taking up a teaching post at King’s College School in Wimbledon. After ten years he moved to Minster School, Leominster where he continues to teach part time. Stephen started playing the violin when he was eight and has always been a keen amateur orchestral and chamber music player. He has played with the Cheltenham Young People’s Orchestra and with the Wimbledon Symphony Orchestra under John Alldis. He has been a member of the Hereford String Orchestra since 1974 and has been its Leader for about thirty years. Stephen is married to Elizabeth. They have four children, all of whom play stringed instruments. Helen and Edward, the two eldest, have played with the HSO.
