The Institute of Local Television has been supporting and running courses in local television since 1995 - from summer schools to a masters programme at Queen Margaret University College. (A regular programme of short community courses are also run as required in conjunction with the Broadcasting Trust and NGOs developing small-scale TV services, including 2.4TV.)
The 2003 SUMMER SCHOOL was built around interviewing and filming at the Edinburgh International Book Festival. We are now planning the 2006 SUMMER SCHOOL also to take place in Edinburgh. With the expected launch of a Visual Arts Festival there will be an opportunity on the 2006 SUMMER SCHOOL to work on productions interviewing and filming writers, artists and directors.
