Packager is tool used for product collation and packing.

Prior to going to market, a product goes through several design stages, including

• the shape of the product
• design of the wrapper or box that it is sold in
• design of the display case that is sometimes seen on the shelf

Following these stages the product will be collated into a box that will be put on a pallet for, storage in a warehouse, or transport in a container.

With Packager we are attempting to look at all these stages of product design and storage to produce an optimum solution to reduce storage space and packaging material.

The stages that Packager supports at present are

• Product Design
• Pack Design
• Carton Design
• Case Design
• Palletisation
• Container Design

Any or all of these stages can be used in order to produce a Technical Packaging Specification (TPS). The stages and their parameters can also be stored as a Packaging Strategy which can be used to package other products.
