A very nice site with gorgeous covers. Only if they could be a little bigger, like 600 x 600 pixels - it would be perfect! I also have some covers images on my portuguese site, if you want to take a look: www.discosantigos.com. And it is updated every day!

Jota, Portugal

Wow....this may be the coolest idea for a website ever!!!!! Love it... I have some Ohio Players covers.....all very sexy.......but not sure of the years.....thanks for all your hard work.......

Bobby, New York, USA

I have just launched a new community website at www.vinylswitch.com aimed at vinyl enthusiasts worldwide. You can swap, get free stuff, write reviews etc.
Please check it out!
Thanks

I have the reel to reel of Behind Brigitte Bardot which only has the half, the BOTTOM HALF, of a picture I had no idea existed. Thank you.

PD, New York City, USA

Nice web site, you forgot one though, or atleast I didn't see it here. BLIND FAITH had a record cover with a topless girl on the cover holding a plane. Let me know if you got it on here.

Ray, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

MoJo. J. Park, Seoul, Korea

Enjoyed looking at the covers, some of you may want to check out the 8 Track Heaven site as they have some covers like this, and see our site also - 70s invasion, we review music of Unknown Women in rock and pop 60s - 70s - today, amongst others, so you'll find similiar images as you found here - http://www.angelfire.com/vt2/70sinvasion/

Alan, L.A., USA

this is a fantastic little site I found by accident (they're usually the best ones) keep going with it!

Kev, London, UK

A couple of recommendations... Brigitte Bardot (Phillips) 1963 and Curtis Counce - You Get More Bounce With Curtis Counce. Try to seek those out!

Leon, Surrey, UK

Great Site, I have been collecting LPs for years simply on merit of their covers and have a nice collection, not an easy past-time for others to understand.

I can recommend two books for those interested in collecting (a number of covers in the books are shown on this site).

"Classic Rock Covers" by Michael Ochs. This is part of the ICONS book series - ISBN 3-8228-5540-5 and a great book "Album Covers from the Vinyl Junkyard" from booth-clibborn editions highflyers publications - ISBN 3-927258-52-0.

Chris, Berlin

I like to look at some nice covers of the seventies.

Rick Gernot, Honolulu, Hawaii

A word of thanks... to Dave Plested for the loan of some of his unfeasibly large record collection.
David Plested, your name's been mentioned on the internet.

Very funny.

Hi there ! I think this site is a very good idea . I just bought a new turntable about 3 months ago so I am still listening and collecting vinyl. I was surprised by the absence of some of the Blue Note LP covers missing from the section on women. The LP covers that come to mind are "Bout Soul" - Jackie McLean , "Slow Drag " - Donald Byrd. Both of these recordings have stuuning women on the cover. I really enjoyed the information on the "Whipped Cream and Other Delights " cover . I loved that cover as a little boy ! Keep playing vinyl. :) Blu....

Blunote, Brooklyn, NYC

Outstanding. I actually remember some of the 60's and 70's stuff. I was laughing all night! Cheers.

Alfie, Plymouth, UK

Don't forget to add the Tribute to Ernest Tubb, issued in the 70s. I went steady with that album cover for almost six months. ;-)

Abrey, USA

I'm gonna write a piece entitled 'girls on record covers' for a Hungarian magazine and your site was a great help to me... So thanks a lot for this very-very cool site!

Les, Hungary

Why didnt you include the Album Covers by the Ohio Players (70's) in your selection?????

Toneman, USA

A brilliant, beautiful site obviously created with love and respect for these treasures of the past. Keep up the good work.

Dazy, Vancouver, Canada

Nice to re-rediscover all these covers . Particularly the Kaempfert and James Last ones.

Paul, Quebec, Canada

I stumbled upon your sit by accident, and I must say I love it, I always got a kick out of these old album covers. The only disappointment was that some of the detail shots are cut off. It would be nice to see the full cover included in those.

Keith, British Columbia, Canada

This and "When LP's Roamed the Earth" are two of the best sites of their type on the Web! You've really done your homework; I'm impressed!

Brian, Fort Worth, Texas

Loved it!!!! Copied some to be my background, a trip back in time into the collection of my parents! Cool site, thanx, beso.

Çoise, Canary Islands

Are there any covers which don't include pictures of women? Or is this site just for men appreciating sexy women selling music? I would be interested to know as I'm sure there is a lot more to be said about album covers of the 50's and 60's.

Natalie, England

[ Natalie, to cover the entire genre of album covers over this period would require more of my time than I have. I agree there are countless other interesting covers out there and some other sites do make attempts to showcase them. Why don't you start your own site and fill the gap? I'd be more than happy to link to it.

Goo, Mike, check out Fireman in Potpourri. Or you could make your own like I do.

Mustang, Texas

Bella página. Faltan casi todas las carátulas de London phase 4 stereo, espacialmente las de Ronnie Aldrich (gracias por la de That Aldrich Feeling, spectacular!)

René González Medina, Bogotá, Colombia

Why aren't any of the Bettie Page covers included yet? I agree with Goo.

Mike, Regina SK Canada

This is without a doubt, a wonderful site dedicated to the best taste & art in general.

Eduard, Groningen The Netherlands

I wanted to see naked chics what the hell is this. No ONE IS NAKED.

Goo, Calgary AB Canada

Nice, Nice and NICE! Keep up the good work! ....Thanks!

Gert, Rotterdam, The Netherlands

Greatest retro page on the web, does anyone know anything similar to this ... I mean 60s and 70s pictures? I haven't seen anything like it, I am just hungry for a lot more.

Disgusting, I got absolutely nothing done once I hit this site. Major time suck, incredible work, though. Keep it up!

Great site! I miss Ann-Margret, though...Maybe you could link to my page:

Hey, man it´s absolutely astonishing but much more for the records than for the sleeves, you know? It´s incredible that someone pretending to be luxury or smart puts a gorgeous cheek on its record cover, and of course that music should be great. Where the hell did you get these records?! They must be in the bargains sections of course and they are so rare and interesting... I can assure you that here in Madrid a fair dedicated to records with easy listening music and cheeks on the cover would have a massive attendance, and of course many people will buy and sell their own stuff or other´s. GREAT.

Alberto Nanclares da Veiga, Madrid

Amazingly spot on - perfect site.

Toby Barnes, London

Great idea. I see your angle of the unique covers, but really I thought you should include Stevie Nicks. Obviously!

Miami, FL

Web sites amazing (Design's nice too). Nice to find more people that collect great covers. Someday a Mary Tyler Moore cover section? I'll scan mine! :-)

Dennis, California

A delightful site. I've been looking for the Whipped Cream cover for awhile. This site should be cross referenced under art. Keep up the good work. I've added it to my bookmarked pages.

Jake Sparks, Cheju, Korea

Greetings! I "stumbled" across your site today - and am I glad I did! It's fabulous! Great work! I have a Julie London site which might be right up your alley. KEEP UP THE FANTASTIC WORK! Cheers!

Greg Gardner
"Julie Is Her Name"

Excellent, I thought I was mad for making video tapes of my album collection, now I feel sane again, look out for the world of Roberto Mann, the cover star is incredible.

Big Al, Llanbradach

Quite good, but why the heck is there no cover of Nancy Sinatra's These Boots Are Made For Walkin'? No web site of this nature is complete without it.

Andrew, Los Angeles

[ The Nancy Sinatra special has been and gone. It may be back one day. Stay tuned! ]

One of the most original sites I've ever visited. I'm enjoing it very much. Congratulations for your excellent work!

Miguel Scaramozzino, Argentina

Disappointingly tame and old fashioned, but amusing in a strange kind of way - all a bit before my time really - makes me wonder what all the fuss is about. It's certainly different though, so it scores points for that.

Al Bumtrack, London

A stroll down mammary lane.. Took me back to my childhood days when I would sneak off to peek at the women on the covers of my parents' Hi-Fi phonographic disk collection... 'specially the Martin Denny LPs, and the justifiably famous "whipped cream girl" who shaped the libidos of millions of young men...

Tralfie, U.S.A.

A blast from my past.It brought back some good memories. Hope to see more soon..

It took me back when I saw "Whipped Cream".

I guess they were an inspiration for a lot of us in our youth to play or think about playing a musical instrument. Sorry you said no more horn jokes. Look forward to your next lot.

Bazza, Australia

What a great find - your web! Coincidentally, I was browsing through my stored collection of what I considered garbage (about 3000lps) and pulled out about 200 covers with women! I collect glamor art - why had this not occured to me??? Some pretty tacky ones but now I can appreciate them for what they are!! Thanks!!! As mentioned I collect glamor art and have a very basic web-page which I have just set up. No glamor art (or record-jackets) on it yet, but it will come!

Quite Right! Jolly Good Fun! I think I will have a pint tonight in celebration of your wonderful page.
The only thing that might not make me raise my glass high is the fact that there are no HERB ALPERT TIJUANA BRASS album covers to be found on your page!
You blokes know what I'm jabbering on about-the album with the lass covered in cream!?!?!? ( see cover ) Keep up the good work!

Nice pictures, nice covers. Keep it up!

Colin, London

It's like this folks - if you exclude great cover art like Liz Phair's Exile In Guyville (is that a nipple?) or the inside picture of Courtney Love from Live Through This, not only are you just being hypocritical, but you are also excluding an age when women are far more assertive and up front with their sexuality, which, to a confident and real man, is not a frightening but instead an exciting trait. See what I mean?

It was fab. Marvy, just a whirl, daddy-o. The woman in 16 Chart Hits Vol 15 with the rifle, that's it. My new wallpaper. Thanks
