The Lochuichart Jumper is probably my most popular garment. It takes its name from the area in which I live, Lochluichart, Which lies at the head of Loch Luichart. Not many people live in this area which is mainly deer forest. The word "Forest" is not a very good description as, although a lot of trees have been planted, most of the area is heather covered hills. The hills to the north are the Fannichs which, being over 3000 ft. are popular with Munro baggers. (Munro baggers are people who try to climb all the 279 peaks over 3000 ft.) My workshop is a converted steading (very cold in the winter!) It is here that I make my knitwear. The Lochluichart jumper is made from Shetland Wool on a 5 gauge jacquard knitting machine. Visitors to the shop often ask, "How long does it take to make one" This is quite a difficult question as I tend to make them in batches but I think that it probably takes me about 2 hours. The picture should be coming up now so I will stop rambling on and let you look at it.
