Pure Wildfire!
Pure Wildfire is a rock band. Set in the same world as Department 57, Pure Wildfire's members are shape-shifting firebirds. The lead guitarist, Aidan, is the phoenix.
Each member of Pure Wildfire has their own book, apart from the two guitarists Aidan and Corinne, who share a book. Sunfire is their story. The lead singer and lyricist, Ryan's story is told in Icefire, the bassist, Jake Keys, has Moonfire and the drummer, Chris Keys has (what else!) Thunderfire. See the Pure Wildfire section for more details.
The series covers all the members of the band, and is published by Ellora's Cave.

Ryan Hawthorne is the charismatic vocalist for the band Pure Wildfire with the world at his feet. Jake Keys is the bass player for Wildfire, the hottest rock band on the planet. Just before going into the studio to record the band's fourth album, he gets word that his wife is dead. Cheryl and Jake have never lived together, never even slept together, because Cheryl needed the money which would only be released from her mother's estate when she married, and Jake found "I'm married" a convenient excuse to give the women flocking to the green room after Wildfire's performances. Now Cheryl is dead. Murdered. Traveling to her home town in smalltown America, Jake finds hypocrisy and doubt. Because Cheryl was gay and her business partner is accused of the murder. A shame her business partner, Teri, is the sexiest woman he'd ever seen. So how would she feel if they knew he was a firebird shapeshifter and Cheryl's murderers might well have been after his Talent? He's about to find out. Teri is used to people assuming she isn't what they think she is. She's learned to live with accusations and sneers, and her pride won't let her back down. Because she's not gay and she was never anything but a business partner to Cheryl, the woman she respected and cared for. Now she's accused of Cheryl's murder, and she didn't do that too. Her only salvation is the incredibly sexy Jake Keys, the husband she never realized Cheryl had. And the amazing Talent he holds, the ability to fly. Really fly. |

Chris Keys is the drummer for Pure Wildfire, the percussionist, the backbone of the band. But nobody expects a drummer to have much in the way of brainpower. Except that Chris has. He keeps his hobby quiet, taking pleasure in the fine art he collects, but when he takes a young woman to an auction with him, he knows his secret is out. Hurt by life, her relatives and herself, the heroine of Thunderfire is doubtful that anyone can take her seriously. But Chris does, much to his own surprise. Then she finds herself in great danger and she needs his help. But he needs hers, too. |
