The Northern Ireland Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) decided on 15 October 1999 not to charge any of  the four suspects in respect of the murder of Seamus Ludlow. Though two of the men arrested in February 1998 made statements while in RUC custody, none of the men will be charged. No explanation for this decision has been given to the Ludlow family.

Welcome to the Ludlow family's website for the Seamus Ludlow Truth and Justice Campaign.

Seamus Ludlow (47), Thistlecross, Mountpleasant, Dundalk, County Louth, Ireland, was abducted and murdered on the night of 1st and 2nd May 1976, after leaving a Dundalk public house, by UDR and Red Hand Commando.

His Loyalist/British Army killers have never been brought to justice, although they were well known to the Irish Gardai and the RUC by 1979, if not before. The Ludlow family demands public inquiries to establish the reasons for this. Why were his killers protected while the innocent victim was smeared and his murder forgotten by the police who had a duty to bring the killers to justice?

This page features links to the websites of human rights bodies and publications which will be of interest to anyone concerned with the human rights aspects of the Seamus Ludlow case and those of the many other forgotten victims of state violence. The Ludlow family particularly recommends BIRW, the Pat Finucane Centre, Relatives for Justice, and ICCL.
