The following are all (or at least most
of) the shows that the ilustrious Lay-dees who lunch have
helmed over the years. If anyone knows the details of any
that aren't in the list, feel free to mail me.
| Casting Couch |
November
1999 - December 1999
|
| Mel & Sue return to top form
on our screens once again with a celebrity panel
game, featuring Chris Moyles and Tamara Beckwith |
|
| Movie Babylon |
October 1999
- December 1999
|
Sky's newest
movie show, helmed by none other than our Perks.
Half an hour long with a commercial break in
between, Movie Babylon is only available to
people who can recieve Sky Moviemax. So far we've
had such wonderous events as Les Dennis talk
about the Blair Witch Project, and Alan Davies
having a long discussion with Sue about porn.

|
| Back To Our Roots |
Tour, April
- May 1999
|
| Mel & Sues
latest tour of the UK, Back To Our Roots, was a
smashing extravaganza featuring cigarettes on
poles, handbags, Sharon Stone, and that bloke who
did the voiceovers on the product ads in The
Smell Of Reeves And Mortimer... |
|
| Mel and Sue's Comedy Breakdown |
March 1999 -
April 1999
|
| Starting on BBC
Radio 2 on 13th March (at 1pm) this show was
described as 'a six part series exploring the
best of comedy', with their first show
concentrating on 'Fitness and Rehabilitation'.
Actually it was a pretty stadard collection of
comedy clips with Mel & Sue providing the
links... |
|
| Late Lunch Series 2 |
October 1998
- March 1999
|
| LL returned in
October for its second series with the 'Late'
flavour. Airing on Channel Four every Wednesday
at 6pm until 3rd March (they had a break for
Christmas though), the show returned to its one
hour length and this pleased everyone... however,
this was to be the last series of the program
ever (at least with M&S as presenters anyway)
and now it is gone, a nation mourns.... |
|
| Late Lunch Series 1 |
April - May
1998
|
| The first series
of Late Lunch was very similar to Light Lunch
with the exception of no cooking.... this was a
shame as some of the funniest moments on Light
Lunch occured in the kitchen (Ben Unwin and Dawn
French spring to mind)... the set had been
completely redesigned and the band moved to
accomodate a larger audience. Another downer is
that the show lasted for a paltry 30 mins
including an ad break. However these bad points
were more than made up for by
Mel and Sue's hilarious antics, there were more
sketches in the show ("Will it be the maid?
Or the man in the hall with the drill?")
and altogether it was a rollercoaster prime time
ride..... |

| Light Lunch Series 1 & 2 |
March 1997 -
February 1998
|
| Light Lunch was a comedy/chat/cookery
show. It was presented by Mel Giedroyc and Sue
Perkins, who have now been recognised as comedy
deities. The show began with a member of the
audience introducing what guests will be on, then
the titles roll. After the titles Mel & Sue
came on and do a few gags and introduce the band
(It had a different food related name every week,
e.g. Bake That). The action then moved to the
kitchen where either Mel or Sue would oversee the
cooking of a delicious meal by a top chef (usually),
while the other half of the top comedy duo
investigated the audience, and what they had
brought to eat (each person got £3 to buy lunch).
Several puns and a commercial break later, M&S
introduced the guests and everyone sat down to
have lunch, with M&S asking the occasional
question. After another commecial break M&S
did a few more gags, and one of the pair went
into the kitchen where either a chef or celeb.
will have made/bought pudding. Then after it had
been dished up, the guests were asked questions
by the audience, or people on the phone.
Sometimes a cakeshop question was even used. And
then, after it seemed mere minutes (an hour in
fact) after the titles have rolled, it would be
the end of the show. Or I could have just said,
"Light Lunch was bloody good." |
