"The Sun will come out Tomorrow for Annie"

After the recent success of their pantomime Spennymoor Stage and Song
are currently hard at work rehearsing for their forthcoming production of the
popular musical Annie

Annie is the classic fairy tale story of the orphan girl and her lucky break in
life when she is chosen to spend Christmas with the billionaire Oliver
"Daddy" Warbucks.

The role of Annie will shared, 3 nights each, by society newcomers Ellie
Edwards
and Olivia Griffiths.
They were chosen, along with the two teams of orphans, after coming
through an extensive audition weekend in November. The role of Daddy
Warbucks is played by Malcolm Cooper

Miss Hannigan the owner of the orphanage Annie escapes from is played
by Claire Warren. Accompanied by her scheming brother Rooster
(Richard Butler) and his girlfriend Lily (Susan Raper) they attempt to
trick Warbucks into believing they are Annie's parents and claim the
reward he has promised.

However thanks to the help of Warbucks secretary, Grace Farrell, played
by Karen Butler and President Roosevelt played by Steve Hodgson, the
plot is foiled.

This is also a landmark show for producer Eric Hickson. After producing
all the society's shows as well designing and building the sets since 1992
Eric will retire from the role of producer at the end of the show
