The local chateau at Verteuil is one of several in the area that is and has been owned by the Rochefoucauld family for many centuries. This one is not open to the public yet but they have one nearby that is. The building in the foreground is a mill (once owned by the chateau) that still operates and sells bread in it’s nearby shop
The area is well know for the abudance of these fossils. This was found just below the surface while digging a bed
