010 3442 Deerness J.3.10.64 The Great Marquess again with a general view of Deeness Valley Junction. Of the 3 sets of lines in the foreground you can see that the middle set are of a lighter rust than the others this is because the left ones were then only used for Miner's Gala Day passenger train storage, the right hand set were of the by then closed Deerness Valley Branch but the middle set got the daily visit from Durham's Banker when delivering the water supply to the signal boxes and running round its Guards Van (see one of my memories) Copyright © Roy Lambeth.
