VERSIONS OF THE SCHOOL LABELS.

As we all know Cliburn School is one of the rarest early Lilliput Lane pieces, with 64 being made at the time of the closure of this School, which is approximately 10 miles from Penrith, just to the South  infamous A66 road. It was subsequently re issued as The Old School House, which comes itself in three distinct versions, all being illustrated here. The rare Cliburn is the only early piece to come with a distinctive red label, however when the Welsh Series was introduced, some early pieces had red labels. Purely as a matter of interest the only other pieces in the Lilliput Lane Series with unusual labels are the Bermuda three!

  1. TOP LEFT version 1-1, Cliburn, single line back stamp, 274 grams.

  2. TOP RIGHT version 1-1, Old School House, thin bell tower, single line back stamp, 299 grams.

  3. BOTTOM LEFT version 1-2, Old School House, thick bell tower, single line back stamp 262 grams.

  4. BOTTOM RIGHT version 1984-1, Old School House, thick bell tower, 1984 back stamp, 292 grams.

Please note the distinctive labels on each piece.
