HISTORY:
The number of progressive rock tribute bands has increased dramatically over the past few years.
They are mostly 'specific' tribute bands concentrating on the music of one band only. In late 2003/early 2004,
Doug Melbourne (ex ReGenesis), Shaun Hunt (ex Genesis In The Cage) and
Mark Nixon (ex Enigma, Omega) shared a common goal to form a general progressive rock tribute band, a band that would play
the music of all of the great 1970s progressive rock bands such as Genesis, Yes, Pink Floyd, ELP, King Crimson,
Jethro Tull, Focus, Camel and the like, providing a varied and enjoyable evening of music to share with all fans of this
particular genre of music.
So, in early 2004, the hunt was on for a vocalist and drummer with not only the unquestionably high level of competency to play such music but, also,
the same level of enthusiasm and love for playing the music as the three original members. After many months of searching and countless auditions,
we found the ideal drummer in Neil Marshall and he joined the band in June 2004. This meant that we were at least able to rehearse the musical content whilst we
continued to search for a vocalist.
In September 2004, just 6 weeks before we were to play at, or withdraw from, the prestigious progsFest
Progressive Rock Festival at Chippenham over the weekend of the 30th/31st October 2004, we recruited the very experienced Sam Blue on vocals. At last, the line-up was complete.
After an intensive 6 week rehearsal schedule we were ready and played our debut
gig at progSfest. We opened the proceedings on the second day followed by Magenta and Ray Wilson. Take a look in the reviews section for reviews
from the show.
