Child Sponsorship
Making
a difference – to individual children
Sponsoring is a way of ensuring that individual children have an assured future. It costs £14.50 to provide ordinary care (i.e. not including operation costs) for one child for a month at either of the centres. This pays for all accommodation costs, clothing, basic medical and school costs etc. Not all sponsors can afford £14.50 and we do not set a specific amount for sponsorship. Some sponsors contribute less than this whilst others contribute exactly £14.50 or more, depending on their circumstances. The children’s needs are very great and we welcome, with gratitude, the generosity of sponsorship donations, whatever their size. Sponsors initially receive a photo and information about the child assigned to them. They will receive progress reports on their child (normally, once a year) and be sent our general News Update twice a year. Some sponsors like to write to their child, and letters will be translated at the Centres from English to the children’s language Telugu (and vice versa) to assist correspondence. There is no expectation whatsoever for sponsors to visit their child, but if they choose to do so they would be very welcome to stay at the centres. The children will guarantee a rapturous reception and an unforgettable stay. (See report of a sponsor’s visit in a recent News Update) If you would like to sponsor, or have any queries, please contact us.
