Battery Portable Receiver by Roberts Radio.

Roberts Radio of England have always enjoyed a reputation for manufacturing good quality domestic radio sets.This portable receiver,made around the early 1940's is an excellent example of their products.The reciever itself, is contained in a smart, blue rexine covered wooden cabinet,with a neat lift up lid, giving access to the controls.Frequency coverage is in 3 roberto.jpg (19409 bytes)ranges:Long 900-2000 metres,Medium 200-550 metres and Short 16-50 metres.The circuit uses 4 vacuum tubes and power requirements could probably be met by a 1.5volt battery together with approximately 90 volts dc Ht (B+).The cabinet has a rear door for access to the battery copmartment and incorporates a turn-table, to facilitate easy tuning of maximum strenght signals.The set is in good ,all original condition and working order.Roberts Radios offer particularly good value and this Roberts Portable receiver is no exception.The price is $240 US Dollars which includes the cost of air freight to the USA.

VIDOR Model LADY ANN Battery/Mains Portable

A rather nice example of a portable set,which from it’s appearance was probably made during the 1950’s by the Vidor Company,in England.The receiver uses 4 vacuum tubes and the vidorladyann.jpg (24606 bytes)frequency coverage,which is on 2 switched ranges,is from 1100-1900metres on LW and from 200-540metres on MW.A frame antenna is built into the lid of the portable case.The receiver is in all original condition,with no modifications.Power requirements are either 200-250 volts ac or 7.5volts LT and 90 volts HT(B+).The receiver is in working order.The price is $195 US Dollars,which includes the cost of air freight to the USA.
