British Army Receiver R107

r107.jpg (24678 bytes)This World War 2 vintage radio receiver was for many years a "workhorse" of the British Army.It uses 9 tubes(valves) in a superheterodine circuit designed for receiving C.W. and R.T. signals. The coverage of the receiver is 1.2 Mc’s to 17.5 Mc’s,in 3 ranges. The radio will work from A.C. supplies of 100 to 250 volts or from 12 volts D.C.Jacks are provided on the front panel for Low Resistance headphones. At some point during the last 60 years, this vintage radio has had the paintwork on the case and front panel restored, but fortunately, all the original lettering remains. When these receivers first appeared on the surplus market after the war, they were frequently modified by the purchasers. This particular R107 vintage receiver has not been altered, and retains it’s original components, save only for the plug-in vibrator, the absence of which is not of consequence to the operation of the receiver, unless of course,it is desired to operate it on 12 volts D.C.General condition is somewhere between average and good.Make no mistake, this receiver is a large and impressive "beast", of rugged construction, with a spectacular front panel array of no fewer than 14 controls, plus a number of sockets for power supplies, earth, antenna and headphone connections etc.At 24"long x 13" high and 17.5" deep, this is a big beauty. At 96 lbs.in weight,it is also very heavy. The receiver is in working order and comes complete with a copy of it’s very comprehensive manual and circuit. The price for this classic radio receiver is $530 U.S.Dollars.
