Quad AM 3 Tuner.

This most interesting tuner, was made by the famous Accoustical Manufacturing Company,of Huntingdon,England. The reason that it is especially interesting, is that firstly, although designed for the reception of AM transmissions,it was made at a time when VHF/FM was the norm.Secondly, this attractive little tuner uses tubes(valves),(there are 4 in the circuit)despite the fact ,that by the time it was made ,(probably around the late 60’s or early 70’s ,transistors quadam3.jpg (10969 bytes)were in standard use for such tuners. The frequency covered by the Quad AM Tuner, is Long wave 145-375 kc’s,Medium Wave 510-1620 kc’s and Short Wave 5.8-18.5 Mc’s ,making it a very versatile unit..Power requirements are 100-130 or 200-250 volts AC.The condition of this scarce collector’s AM tube type Tuner, is best described as "near new" and it is in working order.A copy of the Accoustic Manufacturing Company’s handbook for the AM3 Tuner,is included with the unit. The price for this difficult to find item is $285 US Dollars, which includes the cost of air freight to the USA.
