The T1154 Transmitter is particularly appealing to
collectors of WW II equipment. Its distinctive, colouration and association with the
Lancaster Bomber, may well be significant factors in this appeal.Although its principal
role was use as an airborne transmitter, two variants were produced for ground station use
ie.,T1154 D & E.Frequency coverage of the airborne units is as follows: T1154,A,B,J
&N 10Mcs to 3 Mcs and 500 200 kcs,in 3 ranges;T1154C,F,H,K,
& M 16.7 to 2.35 Mcs and 500-200 kcs,in 4 ranges;T1154L 5.5 to
1.5Mcs and 500-200kcs in 3 ranges. The transmitter is provided with a VFO and
the frequencies intended for use can be preset, using a click-stop system.Suppressor grid
modulation ,by carbon microphone produces useable modulation at a level of around 70%.The
P.A. uses 2 directly heated pentodes,type VT104 for an output of 50-80 watts,reduced to
quarter power on R/T and M.C.W.Power requirements are 1200 volts,200mA HT (B+);6
volts 4 A L.T.and
6volts 2.5A keying relay. This was originally supplied by rotary converters working from
the aircraft electrical system ,or from a.c. mains via transformer/rectifiers,on the
ground.Weight of the transmitter is around 47lbs.The transmitter was designed for use with
the associated R1155 receiver. At Radio Exports.com, we usually have several T1154
transmitters in stock and a selection of R1155 receivers. From time to time,we also have
power supplies;however, these are horrendously heavy and in consequence are expensive to
ship. However,if you really want one, just ask for a quotation, but do sit down with a stiff
drink,when you receive it!
The T1154 Transmitters which we supply are complete, but untested. If you intend to use these transmitters,it is absolutely essential that you have them examined by a qualified electrical engineer and only use them if he certifies that it safe to do so.Just remember, the wiring is now over half a century old and may well not be capable of handling 1200 volts!
The price for a T1154 transmitter, including the cost of shipment to the U.S.A.,is $645 U.S. Dollars.
EDDYSTONE MARINE RECEIVER Model 659/670This receiver, produced from 1948 onwards by the Eddystone
Company (Stratton & Co) in England ,uses 7 valves(tubes) in a supheterodyne
circuit.Frequency coverage is in 4 ranges, as follows: 250-550 kcs,1.2-2.75
Mcs,6-13Mcs and 13-30 Mcs.The receiver has a
push-pull output stage and a
built in loudspeaker(which is the only non- original item in the receiver, the speaker
having been replaced at some time in its history).Power requirements are 110V or
230V a.c.The receiver is in tidy condition and in good working order. The price for this
early Eddystone receiver, which includes the cost of air freight to the USA,is $310 U.S.
Dollars.
