Mullard High Speed Valve Tester.Type E7600

mullardtesterft.jpg (24417 bytes)The Mullard High Speed Valve Tester, is a mid 20th century instrument, designed for the testing of new and used valves, to approved limits. The ease with which valves could readily be checked by this unit, made it a very popular tester with maintenance engineers.Operation of the tester was made very simple, by the use of paxolin punched cards. The appropriate card for the valve under test is inserted in the machine and a gate switch automatically makes all the required circuit connections.Afterwhich a single rotary switch selects various tests, in sequence and the results are indicated by the position of a spot on a cathode ray tube.A coloured scale indicates whether or not,the valve is within prescribed limits.A difficulty which sometimes arises from the collector’s viewpoint, is that over the years, the cards required to operate these machines often become lost.Fortunately, this is not a problem with the instrument which we are able to offer as this retains not only the special aluminium boxes, originally supplied by Mullard for card storage, but more importantly, has a full compliment of test cards, covering a large range of valve types.

mullardcards.jpg (24678 bytes)The Valve Tester is in good condition, and aside from the fact that at some time in the last 50 years the case paintwork has been restored, the internals and all knobs and controls, etc., are totally original. It comes with a copy of the Mullard Technical and Operating Manual, together with the relevant Mullard Numerical list of Valve Test Cards. This vintage valve tester would make an interesting addition to any collection, especially, as it is in working order. The price is $980 U.S.Dollars,which includes the cost of air freight to the USA.
