A rather nice,compact transceiver,of French manufacture.It
was taken as a trophy of war by a British soldier, who took part in the Falklands
War,between Britain and Argentina.At radio-exports.com , we have an
extensive radio related library, but have been unable to find
any information on this
particular equipment. What we do know,is that this is a frequency synthesised transceiver
covering the range 0-20Mcs,AM & SSB.An ATU is fixed to the right hand end of the
unit and a rechargeable battery pack is clipped to the left end.Charging is accomplished
via the hand-cranked generator mounted on the top of the transceiver. The transceiver is in
working order. The price of this transceiver, including ATU,Battery Pack & Hand
Generator,is $435 U.S. Dollars,which includes the cost of shipment to the U.S.A.
oscillator,three
IF stages,and three audio stages.Frequency coverage is 59-555kc/s and 1.47 30Mc/s
in five switched bands.Facilities are afforded for selectivity switching, giving the
following 4 bandwidths;8kc/s,3kc/s,1k/c and 200c/s audio filter.Controls
include,AGC,switched BFO tuning and crystal calibration. The receiver may also be operated
on a single crystal-controlled frequency by plugging a suitable crystal into the socket on
the front of the receiver.Audio outputs are 62mW into 100 ohms for headphones and 2W into
600 ohms for use with a suitable speaker. The receiver currently operates on 240 volts
a.c.,a circumstance which seems to be at variance with the manual,so this may be a
re-configuration of the power supply arrangements,or possibly a variant model of the
receiver, designed for shore use.Dimensions of the receiver are approximately 14"
high x 13" wide x 14.5" deep and the weight is 64lbs.The receiver comes complete
with a manual, which includes circuit diagrams.General condition of the receiver is good
and the receiver is in working order. The price, which includes the cost of air freight to
the USA,is$535 U.S. Dollars.
