Vintage Ericssons Headphones & Vintage Tuning Condenser.
Two very attractive, classic,British made items ,ideal for
display purposes, as part of a vintage radio collection, although they could of course be
used.However,because both items are new
and unused and more
especially because they are still in their original boxes,(and how wonderfully evocative
of a by-gone age those boxes are!) it would seem fairly certain that they will be enjoyed
on the basis of appearance ,rather than use.Apart from the absence of the small black knob
on the spindle end of the tuning condenser, both items are in excellent condition. The boxes
have been beautifully patinated by the passage of time and amazingly, the red colouration
on the Ericssons label is a bright as ever.A nice little lot for the collector of
early wireless and crystal sets. The price is $192 US Dollars, which includes the cost of
air freight to the USA.
This is a solid state equipment, made by the ATE Company in England, designed for the reception of frequency shift transmissions with shifts of 10 to 1000 Hz.The converter accepts signals at audio frequency from a suitable L.F. or H.F. radio receiver. These signals are converted into single or double current d.c.pulses for direct operation of selector magnets in page printers, tape reperforators, etc.Output is electronic, and does not use relays or an external d.c.supply.A built-in 3-inch crt provides the familiar balanced "V" presentation, giving a simple and accurate indication of correct receiver tuning.Front panel controls include, signal level, signal bias correction,Mark/Space hold,"V" balance,X and Y shift,Brilliance,Focus and On/Off.A meter indicates the levels of tone input, keyed tone output and d.c.current in the output circuit. The unit is suitable for either rack mounting (19inch) or free standing use.Power requirements are 100-125V or 200-250V,40-400Hz.The equipment is in near new condition and good working order. This is a well made FSK converter and one which is not encountered very often.A nice item for the specialist collector and one which can be put to practical use. The price, which includes a copy of the manufacturers manual for this equipment and the cost of air freight to the USA,is $495 US Dollars.
