Club HistoryS.E.T.R.A. was formed as a trail riding club in 1974 following a chance meeting of a few riders at the Tour of Wales Enduro. They had the first meeting in a pub and decided to get together for a trail ride, meetings were held once a month and after approximately 3 years the founder members decided to affiliate to the ACU to enable the to run their own Enduro. The Southern Centre ACU told the club there was no demand for Enduro in the South and said they would only last a short time, 23 years later we are still here. After forming links with the Army S.E.T.R.A. ran the famous Centurion Enduro for quite a few years with courses varying from 15-32 miles in length. At the 1980 event, when asked how things had gone Secretary of the Meeting Major Oram replied "not too bad only 21 detained in hospital" ( less than 10% of the 240 entry). As people move on, contacts in the Army have come and gone and today the club runs Hare and Hounds events at Chalkpit Hill, Tidworth. Over the years S.E.T.R.A. has had teams in various International Six Day Events and our present club treasurer Dave Tomlins won the ACU British Fourstroke under 250cc Enduro class in 1983.
