| Lap Scoring and Penalty Points Explained. Duration of Event 3 hours each rider does as many laps as he can within this time. Every rider must finish before or on 3hrs from his start time.( Unless a late allowance is anounced at the riders meeting) ie: Start time 10.01 rider must finish on or before 13.01 if he does not come in until 13.02 the lap he is on will not count. Lap Penalty's are calculated on the winner of each class, If the winner in the clubman class does 11 laps therefore each rider in that class receives 1000 marks for every lap he has done less than the class winner. In addition to this each riders special test time is also added at one point per second. Hope this all makes sense, it does to me. We now use our Transponder system which every rider will wear on his Right wrist like a watch, this records his time and No each time he passes the start. The rider passes his transponder against the reader( the black thing) within miliseconds the light will flash to confirm he has been recorded. Look carefully or you will miss the light. Normally we will run 2 readers the 2nd as a backup so you scan on each reader every lap. This system was developed by SETRA and MID Fingerprint it works very well and quite a few clubs now use the system. |
