INDEX OF JUDY'S GHOST STORIES

These are all written by Judy, this part of our home site is an archive of her ghost stories, some of which can be found at other sites on the Internet. She has tried to find illustrations of the places she has written about so that you can imagine yourself there. The most recent stories are 'Ghost Quest in a haunted UK Inn' and 'Echoes from Civil War Ghosts', added to this site in February 2007.

An interactive website has been developed from this archive due to requests left in the guest book. It is called psychic-tymes.com. The Eighteenth issue was put up in February 2007. Do go and visit it!

Psychic-tymes

Psychic-tymes.com is a paranormal ezine that is aimed at all age groups interested in the paranormal. Articles have been commissioned from a variety of sources. The eighteenth issue has the following ghost related articles in it:
Carleton Goal in Ottawa, Canada, gives a ghostly experience to Judy & Martin. Sohie Childs talks about cursing on the Wiccan page. The paranormal problem page looks at suicide haunts.

There are also many other articles on a variety of paranormal subject - do go and visit it!

David's Story

David was a very special person for me. When I was younger I put a lot of importance on astrology. This passed as I grew older but when I discovered that he was my astrological twin we established a connection that is hard to explain. David was not the healthiest of men. The time came when his health began to seriously fail, he was developing kidney disease. This is the story of what happened after he died in December 1994. It was written to bring comfort to the recently bereaved.

(Written in 1998 for the ghost-discuss list. Added to these pages February 2001)

Dorney Court

Martin and I like to visit the stately homes of England for many reasons: they are beautiful; they have a wonderful sense of history; and, often they are haunted. Some of them are stuffed full of ghosts, so many that they are almost hanging out of the windows and flailing their arms to get attention. Dorney Court comes into that category.

(Added 10th Jan 2000, written for the ghost-discuss list early 1999)

Echoes from civil war ghosts A private ghost hunt of two mediums in an ancient castle in Devon, England. For all you Americans out there this is refering to the English Civil War during the seventeenth century and not your American Civil war in the nineteenth century.

(Added 21st February 2007, written for www.psychic-tymes.com in 2004)

A famous ghost

People always expect ghosts to be of famous people, this is the only 'celebrity ghost' I have ever met, Lord George Gordon, more commonly known as Byron the poet.

(Added 20th Sept. 1999, written for the ghost-discuss list in early 1999)

Geoffrey of Snowshill Manor

Geoffrey is a ghostly monk haunting a beautiful manor house in Britain. He is not the only ghostly resident. Judy has been in contact with Geoffrey off and on for seven years. Enjoy the on-going story.

(Added 29th September 1999, written for ghost-discuss list late 1998, original copy is also viewed at Obiwan's UFO free paranormal page, this new edition includes the September 1999 update on Geoffrey).

Ghost Quest in a haunted UK Inn

A report of a ghost hunt at the Crown Hotel in Bishops Waltham, Hampshire, England. This took place in february 2003. The report appeared in psychic-tymes in 2004. This location was used for the pilot television series Ghost Quest.

(Added 21st February 2007, written for www.psychic-tymes.com in Volume 5 issue 1 in 2004.)

Ghostly Warsaw, Memories of World War II

If you look at the importance of the Civil War in the American psyche, you can see how war traumatises, and the number of ghosts at those battlefields shows the trauma does not end with death. Here is a story of a nation crushed under the heel of an oppressor, and how the defiance continues today. A surprising ghost story from Warsaw, Poland.

(Added 21st October 2002, written for www.psychic-tymes.com and appeared in Volume 2 issue 5)

Haunted Yorkshire Guest House

I am often asked about haunted hotels and guest houses. I have stayed in quite a few over the years. This particular Guest House is in a beautiful part of the English countryside so I have added it to my ghost pages. The house was originally a farm, then it became a youth hostel on the Nidderdale Way. It was a B & B when we visited it.

(Added 18th June 2001, written for the ghost-discuss list in 1999. I finally found some illustrations in 2001! We forgot to take a photograph when we stayed there.)

Is Catherine Howard at home?

Hampton Court Palace is notorious as a haunted Royal residence. It has to earn its keep and fund repairs by using the history that took place within its walls as a carrot to bring in tourists. Sometimes this includes using its unseen residents as publicity fodder.

(This report first appeared in www.psychic-tymes.com, volume 1 issue 3, November & December 2000. Added to this site in January 2001.)

Morag's story

A story of a haunted piece of rock near Sheildaig, Loch Torridon in Scotland; and my attempt to help the ghost move on to the light.

(Added 6th Jan 2000, written for the ghost-discuss list in 1998).

Phantoms of Penshurst Place

Penshurst Place is a beautiful castle in the English county of Kent. It has been there for a very long time, and is suitably haunted. I went on a ghosty hunt there in November 2002. Read about what happened.

(This report first appeared in www.psychic-tymes.com, volume 4 issue 1, January to July 2003. Added to this site in July 2004.)

Pussywillow : short story of a ghostly cat

I had to do a web page for an exercise in learning css, so I chose to use one of my older ghost stories to illustrate it [I have lots of stories that just have not made it as far as a web page yet!]. Because it is an exercise in web design it looks different to all the others you will read here. I just did not feel like changing it. Anyway, it is a sweet little story so please enjoy it.

(Added to this site in April 2005)

Spirit of Place

About the nature spirit that lives on the top of Bienn Alligan, a mountain in the Highlands of Scotland. A beautiful place and a lovely spirit.

Story updated with another spirit of place sighting (feeling) April 2000!

(added early September 1999, written for the ghost-discuss list in 1998).

Tiptoeing through the Tower of London

The Tower of London has a violent history, a venue of imprisonment and institutional murder for almost a thousand years. Originally built as a Royal Palace and later used as a prison for those indicted for crimes against the Crown and State, both real and fabricated. For one week in each year this Royal Palace runs night-time ghost tours, barely advertised, and it was a sheer fluke that we heard of them in time to make a booking!

(This report first appeared in www.psychic-tymes.com. volume 2 issue 1, Jan & Feb 2001. Added to this site in March 2001)

Tower of London meditations : Hallowe'en 2001

Did you catch the Ghost Watch Live television programme and all-night Web coverage from the Tower of London? If not here is a description of Judy's experience with The Ghost Detectives and UK Horizons, part of BBC Worldwide. She was invited to take part on the second night of the two night vigil celebrating the run up to Hallowe'en.

(This report first appeared in www.psychic-tymes.com volume 2 issue 6, Dec & Jan 2001 to 02. Added to this site in December 2002)

Walking hidden allyways of London Richard Jones, author of "Walking Haunted London" and "Haunted Britain and Ireland", has been running Ghost Tours through the City of London for fifteen years and tells his ghostly tales with vivacity your reporter duly snatched up her tape recorder and headed out into the dark British streets. I hope you will enjoy it too!

Guest Book

Link to the guest book reinstated April 2005 - however you cannot, as yet, leave a message. I am hoping that the poker spam will have given up the 'ghost' and leave me alone [chuckle].
