Below is me running in a Kompanie 1 beach battle reenactment at the Morecambe weekend. Bren mag box in one hand, my trusty Colt .45 auto in the other. Brens are very loud if you have no ear plugs in. I was not expecting to be in, so I had full webbing, shirt and t-shirt on, HOT !  Battle lasted about 40 mins, crowd has huge, all along to sea wall.

Left-This is Sergeant  Russell,  or,  our Dad.  We have a similar photo taken when he was 20 something, in Egypt. First thing he said about the Vickers gun, "It is mounted too high, should be right down...."
