The final tally on donations for the weekend - £1,452 !!!!

We are here again, this time in force. This is our Fifth visit to the "Leeds Children Silverdale Holiday Centre", and again , a massive thanks to 'Stainless' Bob and Sandra, for organising this event. The list of people to thank, gets bigger every year, such is the enthusiasm of many, trying to give a little back to the home. Roops and Mandy for the T-Shirts, Christine and Tim for the raffle, Helen and Kevin for the meal, Rachael for the cake, there were teddy bears for sale as well I think. But most thanks to the Leeds Children's Centre's trustees, who let us have the hall and facilities, again. Great to see them on the Saturday night, and for a very emotional speech, many thanks from us all. If I have forgotten anybody, very sorry, let me know.. Anyway. Windy, stormy, rain, hail, sleet, snow, sun and calm, graced us this weekend. Some tents survived, some didn't.

Barbara Fox's camper's awning did not make it to Saturday morning, fortunately, she was not in it at the time. I am sure Gordon can fix it....

Auntie Liz, Auntie Sandra and Auntie Helen, looked after us all on Friday evening with a great sit down dinner. I was going to make something out of a tin, so it was a blessed relief when invited to the table I can assure you... So, Wine, beer, nibbles, stew, and stewed apples with fruit and nuts, we were all well stuffed. Many thanks indeed.

Bobby-Oke..... Friday and Saturday evenings, a great success, with lots of takers. Roops and Matthew give moral support to Sandra, who sang like an angel. Sandra that is , not Roops and Matthew !!!

Mr. Bobby-Oky himself. That microphone has had to be surgically removed from his hand .

Saturday morning, after the stormy night. The front and back of the Children's holiday home. It is a huge place, on the right, the girls dorm and behind the boys dorm. 3 big rooms in the middle, and dining room and kitchen on far left, with the big car park, which this weekend was full of cars, caravans and campers. The back lawn was a bit waterlogged, so we kept off it as much as possible. But what a view to have at an event....

Saturday afternoon, a few more jeeps arrived, making 3 jeeps, Roop's Dodge and Tim's "Lucky Strike" Chevy tipper.

Saturday evening's entertainment. What can I say, I had tears from laughing so much. Ian did a great comedy and dance routine, Roops, Matthew and Dave, a very funny rendition of "Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia", Laurel and Hardy style. The bottles on the ends of the bar have helium balloons in for the high pitch singing at the end. A stroke of comic genius lads!

But there was a sting in the tail as they left !!!!

Bobby-Oky was open for business through out the evening, hijacked by the North West Collectors Group, again....

Music and Special Guest, by kind permission of "Tom Cat Le Tash"
One of the Star attractions and special guest of Bob's, was Gina Graham. He was so comfortable, he stayed in character all night. On Sunday morning, declared that he was now happy and relieved to have finally come out of the closet.
If you were ever unsure of the hand gestures of the YMCA song,
performed by a German soldier and an American Pilot, here is your chance......

Can we get an even bigger flag for next time !!!!!!!!

"You ain't seen me , RIGHT!!
