Inside the Tickford factory. Maestro turbos being fitted with their bodykit and
Turbo decals. The Tickford MG Metro carried distinctive Tickford enamel badges and
logo on it's tailgate. The Maestro turbo did not carry any Tickford badges but the
development of the Maestro turbo has strong links with Tickford. Two Tickford Press
releases were made at the time - talking of the collaboration between the two companies
over this model. I have copies of both press releases and also a copy of the original
Tickford records - thanks to Roger Parker. |

This picture of a Maestro turbo carrying a J registration caused a stir. No Maestro turbo
carries a registration other than F, G or H plates. This registration belongs to a Metro but was
probably just put on the Maestro turbo to make it look current at the time - July 30th 1991 - outside Rover dealers Edwards of Stratford. |
| F290 MBA - The car featured below in these pictures showing a new Tickford replica bodykit is No.31 of the original 505. | When I bought my first Maestro turbo (No.31) I found out that replacement Tickford bodykit parts were no longer available. So I took my car to a company called Krafthaus who made fibreglass hardtops for the MGF, and got them to reproduce the Tickford bodykit. These were then available to owners for a couple of years until Krafthaus went bust! Apparently the moulds for the bodykit are still around and Brown and Gammons in Baldock, Herts (MG specialist) know where they are and may still be able to get items of the bodykit made. Speak to Malcolm Gammons if you have a need for bodykit parts. |

Replica Tickford bodykit showing sideskirts about to be put back on the car, driver's side. MGF five spoke alloys are easier to clean than the original alloys. To fit MGF alloys you will need a 3-5mm spacer on the front unless you have a big disc brake conversion. No spacers required on the back but you will need to shave 2-3mm off the plastic legs of the MG centre cap to get it to fit flush. |

No, this is not a press release picture of the Maestro Turbo, but a picture of my wife's car taken in a studio for an American publication - an A-Z of Fast cars. This car had only done 23k miles and was totally original. |
