Veterans O' The Arcane. Top.

As the battle is fought soldiers on both sides (Dark and Light) develop Mastery of Arcane Powers, whether they are Arcanes themselves or normal Folks to reflect this advancement they can purchase a new Edge called 'The Veteran O' The Arcane'.
This Edge costs 5 Bounty Points, and demonstrates the knowledge, experience and accumulation of power that the player has achieved, once obtained, the Character can access a range of Powers relevant to their following.
Gaining this Edge can only be purchased once the character has reached a certain level within the relevant Aptitude (As detailed under each entry) which forms a prerequisite.

Each Circle after the first also has a corresponding prerequisite.

In game terms the aquisition of 'The Veteran O' The Arcane' is a major turning point in the Cowpokes life and should not happen easily, the Character should work for the Edge usually in the form of some form of Quest. Examples being that a Huckster travels the west searching for a particular Veteran Hexslinger or must find a specific tome, a Shaman could undergo a major Quest into the Hunting Grounds, while a Martial Artist might have to fight himself (Sounds easier than it is), essentially an adventure should take place based around the gaining of the Edge.

The Higher Powers are separated into Circles of Magic which detail a range of Powers with 5 Levels or Circles and individual Powers that can be learned by anybody.  This represents the capacity for development once the character has reached the Veteran O' The Arcane.  Upon gaining the Edge should the Arcanist wish to learn The Circles he gains the First with the Edge, individual Powers must be paid for in addition to VOTA, each subsequent Circle then costs 5 Bounty Points,  each Circle should also require a further degree of learning, but nowhere near the effort expended in gaining the Higher Power.

The Edge is also available to Normal Characters, Circle Magic providing them with a range of powers that make them more resistant to the Supernatural.

Each Higher Power is activated by the expenditure of Fate Chips, with the highest being a Legend Chip.  However with Greater Power comes a Greater Cost when things go wrong, under each power a Black Chip Result is listed, should the Arcane Botch (Draw a Joker. Etc.) when using their Veteran O' The Arcane Abilities the Black Chip comes into play.

Finally each Higher Power has some form of everyday effect upon the specific Arcane, this is listed with the Powers Prerequisites.
