| Professor Egon Spengler had been in his new state of being for only a short time, and pondered his perdictament as the Nosferatue surrounded him.
The situation had unfolded as they had arrived in the town of Varney Flats enroute to Chicago, at around 1am an earthly whistle had herralded the arrival of a train, but no ordinary locomotive, the Night Train. Unfortunately Spengler had been shackled to a ceiling post in the towns barn, as to prevent his inner demon becoming free. Spengler didn't actually believe the Majors theory that he had a Demon crawling around inside him but he had to concede the point that something odd had happened in the town of Rotwood and when his memory returned he had burned down the towns saloon and its regulars. So he found himself chained up when two of the bloodsuckers had entered, at first they had thought him alive, and did they get a shock. However upon discovering him to be less than appetising they started to carve
him up with their talons.
The Major became embroiled in fighting the Vampires outside the barn while Chewie sucumbed to three of the monsters bite, Spengler leapt to his furry companions aid. With a martial prowess that the living Spengler could not hope to
match he flew across the barn, inserting the barrel of his rifle beneath the first creatures head and pulled the trigger, spinning around he rifle butted his next attacker and with a deft spin brought the rifle to readiness and shot the third.
Egon Spengler did not realise it at the time but it was a curious thing that his fightin ability had developed so rapidly, and within the dark recess of his Soul a Manitou smiled. |

The Day of Reckoning severed the natural balance, of Life and Death. Instead replacing it with Life, Death and
Unholy Undeath, in the Weird West of 1877 the Dead do indeed walk the earth.
The most notorious of these Undead are the Harrowed, a soul dragged back from its place of rest or torment, by a demonic Manitou and housed within its original shell.
Every day the demon battles the Soul for dominance of the body, however access to this demon also grants dark and ungodly powers!
Dark Seed.
Devils Gambit.
Dispositions: Supernatural Trait, Character continually seeking to improve the Aptitude in Role-Playing terms.
Speed: Always On.
Duration: Always On.
Description: The Harrowed are in the unique position of being able to draw upon their Manitous dark and terrible knowledge.
For this reason an undead with Devils Gambit can increase the Dice Step of a single Aptitude, this has no bearing upon the parent
Coordination or Trait.
Each level of this power grants a +1 Dice Step and a +1 to the Test.
Example: Zeus a Harrowed Muckraker has a low Deftness (1D6), but wants a better Shootin: Pistol Aptitude, after a period of using
his pistol, he gets the oportunity to develop Devils Gambit Level 1, this increases his Shootin Pistol to 1D8+1 but has no effect upon
this overall Deftness which remains at 1D6.
Gore Sword.
Dispositions: High Knife, Sword or Martial Arts Aptitude, Mean As a Rattler, Profession: Military.
Speed: 3.
Duration: Concentration.
Description: The Harrowed must acquire a reasonably long bone, such as a leg bone. He then invokes the
Power, in doing so the bone is absorbed into his primary arm. Shortly the hand upon that appendage joins into a point and then lengthens into a sword,
anyone viewing this must make a Guts Test TN 5.
The Sword resembles a conventional blade made of pure white bone and sheathed in a web of black torn flesh,
it is 8 inches per Level in length. The weapon grants a +1 to Knife or Sword (Depending on length) equal to its Level and the harrowed cannot be disarmed unless the limb/sword is severed.
| Level. |
Bonus. |
Damage. |
Reapers Wings.
Dispositions: Arcane Background, Fleet Footed, Grim Servant O' Death.
Speed: 2.
Duration: Concentration/Wind Cost (See below).
Description: The Harrowed is able to invoke the form of the Grim Reaper himself. This power allows the Undead
to grow a huge pair of Angelic wings grey and black in colour from his back, with which he can fly.
The Harrowed flies at a Pace determined by his Power Level and can maintain a Range of his Vigor Coordination + Power Level X Miles, with
each mile costing him 1 Wind.
The downside to this power is that per Level of his Power he gains a (further) Level of Degeneration for its duration, often making the harrowed appear
like a winged skeleton (watch Terry Gilliams 'The Adventures of Baron Munchausen' to get the idea), this effect wears off after Power Level Hours.
| Benjamen Styria looked from the top of the 10 story Lincohn Memorial Building, a further testament to Mad science even Architecture wasn't safe.
Below on the stairwell leading to the roof, the Agents pursued unable to match his Undying Pace, however there were 7 of them and one of him!
'Fools' he thought, 'I am not the real enemy here, or at least not while I control this body', however the time for debate was not now. As the first agent cleared the doorway Styria stretched allowing huge black wings to enfold from his back, he turned displaying a face now that of a Skull, this visage was enough to force the agent to pause. Time enough for Styria to drop from the roof and swoop up into the New York night, below a woman screamed as the Reaper himself flew overhead. |
