30.10.00 : draughted writing

0 0 Monday 30th October

For me, this place keeps changing - the original text plan was right when it said:

"It has the status of the draft the fluctuation of a draughted writing, blown 'in sets of possible courses' . . ." (I'm hijacking that 'it')

It's taken time, but we've all been "prepared to wait" and "be lost/to leave/to start something new". [I must go and see "Old Yeller" - better than beng tied to the "Shane" of THAT Alan Ladd film, the bane of my life.] from "House Rules" (Vona Groarke): The foundation is the opening gambit; what's added are storeys or rooms. But its premise is the open ground, unbuilt.

from *Last Night's Fun* (Ciaran Carson):
"I cannot fix a linear chronology on these remembered tangled fragments. Itinerant, we have walked the same arbours many times, and have rephrased our questions and responses. Some grooves are worn deeper in our brains than others, as we go back to a favourite tune at staggered intervals; or, mental synapses are zapped, creating fractal pathways where we scarcely know the route, as when we hear a tune we used to play, played differently by someone else."
