27.03.00 : living in (out) books |
||
|
I'm really enjoying this, hearing from all of you. I think one of the most ideal books to live in is The Adventures of Winnie-the-Pooh, (note: A.A. Milne, NOT Walt Disney!!!!) as the Hundred Acre Wood is the most peaceful and innocent, yet at the same time exciting place I know. Those characters are always on one adventure or another, discovering the world around them yet safe in the haven of their friends who are always there when needed. They are the alter egos of us all: wise Owl, naive Pooh, insecure Piglet, energetic Tigger, controlling Rabbit, nurturing Kanga & baby Roo, prolific Rabbit‰s friends and relations, depressed Eeyore, and plain normal Christopher Robin, the ultimate androgyny. It's safe. Accountability is my theme for the week. How to be accountable for what I do, how I do it, ‹outing more of it. This, in a culture that is: out-of-control, out-of-it, out and about, out and away, outwards, out-of-bounds, outdated, outdone, outflanked, outgrouped, outfitted, outsized, outerspaced, out-of-doors, outfaced, outspent, outed, outgassed, outsoaring, out-and-out, outbalanced, outspoken, outsider, outbidding, out breaking, outlined, outcried, outlaying, outlawed, out-of-date, out bidden, outfoxed, outbred, outfront, outnumbered outclassed, outlasted, outgrown, outplaced, outpolled, outcast, out-of-it outlived, outsold, outstanding, outrageous, outmoded, outflowed, outloud, outlaid, outplayed, outstared, outperformed, out-of-state, outsmarted, outsourced, outputting outraced, outran, outgunned, outgoing, outwitted, out shown, outspread, outward, out-of-pocket, outmoded outmaneuvered, outlasting, outlying, outstanding, outcropped, outreaching outridden, outright, outsold, outshown, outmigrated outcrossed, out-of-town, outpaced, outshot, outstripped, outmuscled, outraged, outplaced, outletted outlasted, outlying, outperformed, out-of-the-way, out-of-body, outmatched, outmaned, outsold, outstrayed, outvoted, outplayed, outmatched, outlandish, outlawed, outsourced, outsold, outtalked, outlined, outlived, outdistanced, out-of-doors, outgoing, outguessed, outwitted, outworked, and worn out.
